The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes. If you foolishly ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it. Your life will be impoverished. But if you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life.
– Frank Lloyd Wright.

The human heart knows no bounds. No matter how much we try to satisfy it, we will only leave it yearning for more. We chase the things that we don’t have and forget to be grateful for what we already have. Even the smallest and the silliest of things make us say that we had a ‘horrible day’. But when the real horrible thing happens, that is when we start to realise how quaint our everyday melancholy is. We would trade all the traffic jams, overcrowded buses, lengthy queues and deadlines in the world to do away with it.
Here is what we have to realise, life will not always be rainbows and sunshine, pretending that is, is purely pedantic and arguably pretentious. It will make you damaged, dark and twisty. It will break you. Nobody can protect you from that. Being alone will not save you the misery as well, because it will only increase your yearning. You have to be ready to be hated, mocked and misunderstood. So live. You are here to feel. You are here to love. You are here to make the people around you, happy. You are here to be swallowed up. Your eccentricity makes you stronger. Your dark side makes you whole. Your weakness will keep you connected to the rest of the world. You may lose chunks of yourself in the dark path but you will also find yourself again in that darkness. Drown yourself in a sea of knowledge and let those words run through your veins and fill your mind.
So when it happens that you are wrecked, or deceived, or left wounded, or death brushes near, you will know that you did everything you wanted to and didn’t let anyone stand in your way.
